CDP News: February 1, 2013

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to this week's edition of CDP News. We've been busy this week preparing for our upcoming military-orientated "Topics in Deployment Psychology" course. This eight-day training is a lot of work, but it's worth the all effort to have the opportunity to train both the current and next generation of military behavioral health providers. It kicks off this Monday and we're raring to go!

As for civilian training opportunities, we're bringing our week-long "Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and Their Families" to Phoenix, AZ March 11-15. It's a great chance to get some first-rate training by the CDP's staff of subject matter experts. Plus, Phoenix is beautiful in March! Registration closes on March 1, so grab your spot now. However, if you can't make it out to Arizona, keep an eye on our Civilian Training page as we've got several more training sessions in the works. We'll post these as soon as the dates and locations are finalized.

Looking back over this week's blog entries, Dr. Mary Brinkmeyer took an insightful look at the problem (and a few solutions) of chronic pain in Service Members and Veterans. Our in-house librarian, Shirl Kennedy, put together another handy Research Update, filled with interesting articles from around the Internet.

That's it for this week. We'll see you back here on Monday with a new By the Numbers entry. Have a great weekend everyone!
