Women in the Military

By Carin Lefkowitz, Psy.D.

Women are joining the United States military at an unprecedented rate as their roles in military service are expanded. In recent years, military women have had increased opportunities in deployment and career advancement. However, women Service members continue to face unique challenges, including higher rates of military sexual trauma, specific deployment-related medical concerns, gender-based discrimination, and family stressors. This webinar, led by Dr. Carin Lefkowitz, will prepare providers to meet the specific needs of our women Service members and Veterans by presenting demographic information, benefits of service, and common deployment and post-deployment challenges. Participants will be empowered to provide the care and resources to which our military women are entitled.
