MACE Training Program
Overview
The Military Acute Concussion Evaluation (MACE) Training Program is designed to educate field corpsmen, medical officers, and independent duty corpsmen. The MACE is an initial assessment instrument designed to screen TBI or concussion. The evaluation is critical for making informed medical decisions and expediting treatment.
Course Content:
The MACE Training Program covers instruction on TBI, proper administration of the MACE and management of acute concussion using established clinical practice guidelines. Participants are given the opportunity to practice administration of the MACE, ultimately increasing their ability to accurately and effectively use it, interpret its results, and make decisions regarding need for further evaluation.
Training goals include:

Demonstrate the ability to accurately administer the MACE

Know when it is appropriate and useful to administer the MACE

Be able to interpret the MACE and make decisions regarding the need for further treatment
