The percentage of women Veterans who identified "mental health" as their top "personal challenge" in the Service Women’s Action Network's first annual Survey of Service Women and Women Veterans. According to the survey -- which included "(m)ore than 1,200 people, including nearly 1,000 Service women and women Veterans -- the top two other personal challenges included:

· Connecting to a community of fellow women Veterans (32%)
· Financial stability (32%)

Of particular note:

All respondents consistently cited gender bias as a significant problem. Similarly, written comments indicate that sexual assault and military sexual trauma (MST) continue to be major concerns.

Nevertheless, despite many challenges, "80% of women veterans said they would recommend a career in their service to other women."
