CDP Presents: Using Tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention via Zoom
10 February 2026, Noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern
Description: In this 90-minute webinar, participants will learn the basic structure of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT. The session will review data on DBT’s efficacy in reducing suicide risk and highlight two core DBT concepts that can be used to address suicide risk: the “life worth living” and a behavioral chain analysis. First, the concept of a life worth living will be described in the context of a case example to illustrate how to collaboratively identify treatment goals, enhance client motivation, and reduce suicide risk. Second, a worked example of a behavioral chain analysis will be provided, followed by a solution analysis to show how to identify new skills that are needed to reduce a client’s risk. Participants will leave with practical ideas about how to weave these two elements of DBT into any behaviorally-based treatment paradigm to address suicidal behavior.
Please note: While registration is slated to end once the webinar begins on 10 February 2026, space in this event is limited and registration will close once capacity has been reached, even if this is before the final registration date.
Target Audience: For behavioral health/healthcare providers who treat military personnel, veterans, and their families.
