CDP Presents: Strengthening the Homefront - A Tactical Toolkit Targeting Key Factors During Deployment via Zoom

20 December 2022, Noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern

Description: Deployment is arguably the most challenging of the normative stressors experienced by military families and children, the impact of which has been well-documented to family and child well-being as well as mission readiness. This presentation provides Behavioral Health clinicians with a “tactical toolkit” of ready-to-use, research-based strategies that address key targets of clinical intervention at each phase of the deployment cycle. Inherent to the discussion is how to adapt strategies to address family strengths and preferences from a cultural, racial/ethnic, and belief system perspective.

Please note: While registration is slated to end once the webinar begins on 20 December, space in this event is limited and registration will close once capacity has been reached, even if this is before the final registration date.

Target Audience: For behavioral health/healthcare providers who treat military personnel, veterans, and their families.

To access the course, on the day of the event, log into your account here: https://deploymentpsych.ce21.com/Account/MyAccount and click on the green "Launch Webinar" button.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this event participants will be able to:

  1. Evaluate the impact of deployment on family functioning
  2. Develop strategies to enhance familial relationships during the deployment cycle
  3. Integrate resources to support military family functioning into clinical practice with military families

System Requirements:
This course will be presented via Zoom teleconferencing software. Zoom is browser-based, however an add-in may need to be installed before attending. Participants can test their computer's capabilities by clicking here (or visiting https://zoom.us/test). We recommend those using Internet connections on government or military locations test their ability to load Zoom in advance of the event to ensure there are no technical difficulties. Microphones and webcams are not necessary, but you will need a computer with working speakers or headphones. If you encounter connection difficulties when using your computer, the Zoom app is also available for iOS and Android devices.
