The Center for Deployment Psychology will be presenting a two-day course in the use of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) on 21-22 August 2018, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern. Registration for the course is $45 and comes with 13.5 CEs. (Please note the CE details and refund policy at the bottom of the page). Capacity for this event is limited and registration will close when all seats have been claiimed, even if this is before the final registration date. This course will be held online via the Zoom telecommunications platform.
Description: This intensive two-day module provides training in CPT, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It presents theory underlying CPT, a brief overview of CPT’s empirical support, and step-by-step instructions in CPT protocol techniques. Throughout the workshop strategies for conceptualizing and dealing with co-morbidity, managing avoidance, and keeping patients optimally engaged are provided. Video clips of expert therapists demonstrate CPT skills, and participants are asked to do role-plays and other assignments to learn concepts and practice skills.
System Requirements: This course will be presented via Zoom teleconferencing software. Participants will not have to install any additional programs on their computer to take part. However, a web browser is necessary. (Mac users are recommended to use the Chrome or Firefox browsers to minimize tech issues.). Participants can test their computer's capabilities by clicking here (or visiting http://zoom.us/test). We recommend all participants test their ability to load Zoom in advance of the event to ensure there are no technical difficulties. All participants must log in via an individual connection, rather than as a group using one machine. A headset/headphones are recommended.
A functioning microphone is also MANDATORY to attend this training, to allow for participation in role-play sessions.

Mental healthcare providers are eligible to receive CEs upon successfully completing a post-training survey/knowledge evaluation. CEs for partial participation will not be awarded.
Please note that for this workshop we are unable to offer APA continuing education (CE) credits through our CE partner PESI. Instead, PESI is offering Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) CME credits, which are acceptable to most state licensing boards for psychologists. Please be sure to check the requirements for your state and retain any documentation associated with the training. We apologize for any inconvenience.
CMEs for medical providers or psychiatrists are not available. For eligible disciplines and recognizing bodies, please click here. For other CE credit information only, please contact Bridget Schaub at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
