Speakers Bureau - Moral Injury in Service Members

This two-hour presentation will provide an overview of moral injury, including definitions, types of morally injurious events, clinical implications, and a comparison of moral injury and PTSD. Participants will gain knowledge about assessing and treating moral injury and the unique challenges clinicians face. The focus will be on Service members who experience moral injury in the context of war.

  1. Specify the critical components of a comprehensive definition of moral injury
  2. Discriminate between characteristics of moral injury and symptoms of PTSD
  3. Recommend strategies for the assessment and treatment of moral injury in Service members
