The Center for Deployment Psychology will be presenting a one-day course in the use of Written Exposure Therapy for PTSD on 25 September 2020, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern. Registration for the event is $25 and comes with 7.5 CEs. Space in this event is limited and registration will close once this cap is reached, even if that is before the final registration date.

This course will be held online via Zoom. Also, a functioning microphone is MANDATORY to attend, in order to participate in the role-play sessions. Headphones are also HIGHLY recommended to provide the optimal experience.


This intensive one-day workshop provides training in Written Exposure Therapy (WET), an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It presents the theory underlying WET, a brief overview of WET’s empirical support, and step-by-step instructions in the WET protocol techniques. Throughout the workshop strategies for conceptualizing and dealing with co-morbidity, managing avoidance, and keeping patients optimally engaged are provided.

Learning Objectives:
After this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Evaluate barriers to implementing first-line PTSD treatment approaches.
  2. Appraise critical elements of written exposure therapy.
  3. Analyze the efficacy data for written exposure therapy.
  4. Justify situations when it is appropriate to use written exposure therapy.
  5. Utilize skills learned to deliver written exposure therapy.

System Requirements: This course will be presented via Zoom teleconferencing software. Participants will not have to install any additional programs on their computer to take part. However, a web browser is necessary. (Mac users are recommended to use the Chrome or Firefox browsers to minimize tech issues). Participants can test their computer's capabilities by clicking here (or visiting We recommend all participants test their ability to load Zoom in advance of the event to ensure there are no technical difficulties. All participants must log in via an individual connection, rather than as a group using one machine. A headset/headphones are recommended.
A functioning microphone is also MANDATORY to attend this training, to allow for participation in role-play sessions. 

Continuing Education Details:
This activity is approved for 7.5 continuing education credits (CEs).
The Center for Deployment Psychology maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The CEs provided by the American Psychological Association are acceptable for most licensed professionals when renewing their license and it is our experience that APA CE credits have been recognized by most professional state license boards. However, please check with your board regarding the acceptability of APA CE credits for this activity. 

Participants will be eligible to receive CEs upon successfully completing a post-training survey/knowledge evaluation at the conclusion of the training. CEs for partial participation will not be awarded.
