Illiana Suarez, B.A.
lliana Suarez, B.A. is a Clinical Research Assistant with the Henry M. Jackson Foundation in collaboration with the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. In this role, she supports the development, evaluation, and dissemination of evidence-informed behavioral health resources for military-connected populations, with a focus on suicide prevention, trauma-informed care, and clinician training.
Mrs. Suarez's unique background in formal military medicine research in combination with lived experiences as both the daughter of an OIF Veteran and Active Duty Military Spouse equip her with a practical, profound understanding of the service member and veteran lifecycle.She earned her B.A. in Psychology and minor in Aging Sciences from the University of South Florida.
Over the course of her career as a Research Associate and Coordinator on various projects sponsored by DOW, VA, and private companies, she has played a pivotal role in expanding research portfolios in conjunction with the aforementioned sponsors, and acquired valuable experience working closely with active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
Mrs. Suarez’s work reflects a strong foundation in research methodologies and regulatory standards. She has a special interest in TBI, PTSD, Sleep Medicine, Suicide Prevention, Mental Health, and Neurodegenerative Disease research, and is passionate and motivated by opportunities to support the advancement of medicine and resources for military communities.
