Khristine Heflin, MSW, LCSW-C s a licensed Clinical Social Worker currently serving as a Military Behavioral Health Child Social Worker with the Consortium of Defense Psychology (CDP) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences located in Bethesda, MD. In this role, Ms. Heflin works as a child mental health subject matter expert with the Military Child and Family Collaboratory. She is responsible for identifying best practices for expanding and disseminating telehealth services to military children with mental health, emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Ms. Heflin also develops asynchronous curriculum and facilitates synchronous evidence-based training (MATCH-ADTC) to behavioral health clinicians and community providers caring for military children and families. Additionaly, Ms. Heflin is trained in and serves as teaching faculty in several evidence based treatments for suicide prevention including CBT-SP and PST-SP and safety planning interventions.
Prior to joining CDP, Ms. Heflin's clinical work involved providing individual and group therapy, care management, outreach and crisis services to children, adolescents, and adults. Clinical work settings include psychiatric emergency departments, inpatient hospitals, community mental health clinics, forensic and school settings. Her educational background includes a Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical concentration in mental health, families and children from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is tri-licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
