Marisa McClure
Ms. Marisa McClure is currently serving as Military Primary Prevention Subject Matter Expert at the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Prior to joining HJF in 2026, Ms. McClure was a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy for 24 years. She was stationed on four different combatant ships and deployed overseas five times, including support for the Global War on Terrorism, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. She had command at sea in USS FIREBOLT (PC 10), and command ashore in Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar (Warden equivalent), the largest correctional facility in the Navy.
For her final tour in the Navy, Ms. McClure was assigned to the United States Naval Academy as the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Program Manager. She was responsible for the Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention Education (SHAPE) program, and she established a comprehensive primary prevention strategy across the full spectrum of harmful behaviors that affected the USNA community.
After retirement from the Navy in 2021, Ms. McClure worked as an Independent Consultant supporting several projects, including design of a Case Study for Norwich University’s Master of Public Health Capstone Course. She also served as a Core Trainer for implementation of Department of War’s (DoW) Prevention of Harmful Behaviors curriculum from 2022-2025, and developed and delivered presentations at multiple DoW symposiums, webinars and workshops on Integrated Primary Prevention in the military context.
Ms. McClure received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, and her Masters from the Marine Corps University Command and Staff College.
