This presentation aims to raise awareness and understanding about military and veteran suicide prevention with a focus on Stop Soldier Suicide, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the epidemic of military and veteran suicide. Military and veteran suicide rates continue to be a pressing concern, and programs such as Stop Soldier Suicide play a crucial role in providing support, resources, and advocacy to prevent these tragic incidents. Through its comprehensive approach, Stop Soldier Suicide offers evidence-based, suicide-specific, and personalized assistance and access to mental health services, connecting service members and veterans with the resources they need to thrive. This presentation will provide an overview of Stop Soldier Suicide's mission, programs, and initiatives for providers who work with military and veteran clients. Participants will gain insights into the challenges faced by service members and veterans in terms of mental health and suicide risk. The presentation will also highlight the effective strategies and resources employed by Stop Soldier Suicide to address these challenges, supported by recent program evaluation data.
