Website promoting Evidence-Based Psychotherapy for Military Service Members and Veterans
At this important time in our history as a nation, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) have joined together in a collaborative effort to ensure that Military Service Members and Veterans are able to access the highest quality and most comprehensive mental health services available to address their unique needs, no matter where they are in their military life cycles. To support this effort, the DoD and the VA have joined forces to facilitate the dissemination and implementation of Evidence-Based Psychotherapies (EBPs) across both agencies. This website was developed to promote the use of EBPs, and to ensure that mental health providers across VA and DoD can readily access the most up-to-date and comprehensive resources available.
What This Site Can Offer You
As mental health clinicians in DoD and VA, you are an elite group of individuals. Every day you face a broad range of clinical issues – some are common to the general population, and others are intimately and uniquely associated with military experience. This website is developing to support you and the incredible and challenging work you do providing the best mental health care available to our Military Service Members and Veterans, no matter where they are in their military life cycle. Over time, we hope this website will become a vital community for you and your mental health colleagues across DoD and VA.
- You can get the latest information and resources on EBPs for a range of mental health conditions.
- You can access Subject Matter Experts from VA and DoD, who are available to answer your questions and provide consultation in a variety of formats (e.g., by email, scheduled consultation calls, profession discussion forums).
- You can share your expertise, and draw on the expertise of others – what works, what doesn’t work, challenges and successes.
But, mostly, you can consider this a professional home for you and your colleagues across VA and DoD.
