CDP Presents: Exploring the Importance of Military Culture in Clinical Settings via Zoom
6 November 2024, Noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern
Description: U.S. military service members, veterans, and their families increasingly seek care from providers with limited knowledge of military culture. The 16-item core DSM-5 Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI) was designed to integrate cultural factors into assessment and treatment of mental disorders. Although the CFI was designed for use with all patients, it is unknown whether the CFI adequately assesses military culture. This presentation describes a methodology used to determine the need for specific CFI versions and the creation of a version for use with persons affiliated with the military. The presenters will offer an overview of the CFI-Military Version for Active-Duty Members, Veterans, and their Families.
Please note: While registration is slated to end once the webinar begins on 6 November 2024, space in this event is limited and registration will close once capacity has been reached, even if this is before the final registration date.
Target Audience: For behavioral health/healthcare providers who treat military personnel, veterans, and their families.
To access the course, on the day of the event, log into your account here: https://deploymentpsych.ce21.com/Account/MyAccount and click on the green "Launch Webinar" button.

If you encounter connection difficulties when using your computer, the Zoom app is also available for iOS and Android devices.

Attendees will be able to:
- Explain the relevance of military culture to the clinical treatment of service members.
- Integrate the CFI-Military Version into the assessment of active duty members, veterans and their families.
