CDP Presents Examining the Active Duty to Veteran Transition From Both Sides of the DD-214

When working with Service members transitioning to civilian life or recently-transitioned Veterans, many front-line clinicians have limited awareness of the procedures and resources outside their respective agency. This 90-minute webinar will help shed light on the various transition programs at both the VA (Transition and Care Management) and DoD (Transition Assistance Program). Additional discussion will cover normative versus maladaptive reactions, opportunities for transitional growth, and best practices for treating common readjustment concerns. This webinar will help inform and educate clinicians to better understand the transition process, thus allowing them to deliver care from a more holistic perspective.

Learning Objectives:
After this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Appraise the programs and services the DOD and VA provide to Service members as they separate from active-duty and transition to Veteran status.
  • Differentiate normative and maladaptive issues that arise during the transition process, as well as best-practices for addressing these concerns.
