CDP Presents: Beyond PTSD - Grief-Informed Treatment After Trauma

This 90-minute (75-minutes didactics, 15-minutes Q&A) webinar aim to define grief and adaptation to loss and to describe complicated grief treatment, including why this approach is relevant for military-connected patients. The presenter will provide practical strategies that providers and organizations can use to address complicated grief in a trauma-informed way. The presenter will identify “best practices” for complicated grief treatment across a range of disciplines and specialties, and discuss ways to implement these practices in a way that is culturally-competent for military-connected patients.

  • Appraise the importance of grief among traumatic loss survivors seeking medical care
  • Articulate specific strategies for providing an evidence-based intervention for complicated grief to improve clinical outcomes
