Discrimination, racism, and oppression are embedded in our nation’s history and, unfortunately continue to be seen and felt in our present society as well. Youth, like the rest of us, are impacted by what they see, hear, read, and experience. The impact of racial trauma can have lasting effects on youth if not addressed. In this presentation, we will discuss ways to identify signs of racial trauma in youth as well as strategies to alleviate the impact of racial trauma.
