CDP Presents: Building Resilience in Young People

This presentation provides specific strategies and tools for identifying and fostering the strengths of youth that are rooted in the Seven C’s model of positive youth development and resilience. It will discuss how to promote positive behavioral change while eliminating shame from our interactions with youth. They will understand that confidence has to be rooted in existing competencies. It will also prepare participants to support balanced, authoritative parenting. Finally, it will present a stress management strategy designed to move youth away from self-destructive quick fixes and towards positive behaviors.
