CDP News: Aug. 16, 2013
We’ve made it to end of another week and so it’s time for the latest edition of CDP News! We like to use this space to take a few moments to look back at recent happenings as well as look forward to upcoming events at the Center for Deployment Psychology. It’s been a busy time for our University Counseling Center Core Competency (UC4) program as we visited the University of Nevada Las Vegas to present on Thursday. We’ll be headed to Madison, WI this Thursday, August 22, to bring the program to Madison College. For more information about the UC4 program, head over to the program’s main page here.
While we’re on the subject of upcoming training events, registration is ongoing for our week-long training, Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and Their Families, in San Diego, October 7-11. This program is an excellent opportunity for behavioral health providers to enhance their skills for working with Service Members, Veterans, and their families. For more information or to register, please click here.
If you or someone you know would be interested in joining CDP as a career, head over to our Jobs section. We’ve recently posted listing for positions as part of our new EBP Champion program, in addition to the existing openings.
Highlights of this week’s blog entries, included Dr. Michelle Cornette providing a summary of a recent piece she co-authored on the topic of social cognition and suicide risk, along with the always useful Research Update.
That’s all for this week. Have a great weekend everyone and we’ll see you on Monday!
