CDP News: June 21, 2013
Welcome to another Friday edition of CDP News, where we take a look at recent and upcoming news and events at the Center for Deployment Psychology. As part of the CDP’s mission to provide training in evidence-based therapies to behavioral health providers, we’ve been hosting weekly consultation calls for those who have been through a Prolonged Exposure (PE) or Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) training with us. These calls have been well received and this has prompted us to expand our consultation call offerings. We’re proud to announce that starting Tuesday, June 25, we’ll be adding a weekly call on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).
After next week, the CBT-I consultation calls will be held every Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. EST. The CBT-I calls will be hosted by CDP Deputy Director, Dr. Bill Brim. All of the consultation calls are intended to assist providers in implementing the use of evidence-based treatments in their practices and to help address any concerns or problems that may arise. Access to the call is limited to those providers that have attended a training on evidence-based therapies with the CDP. For more information on the calls and other services offered by the CDP, please visit the Consultation Services page or log into the Provider Portal.
Next up, the CDP continues to grow! We’d like to introduce the newest member of the CDP headquarters staff, Ms. Janis Flemming. She is joining us as the Project Manager for Civilian Programs. In this capacity, she will help organize efforts on our Speakers Bureau and Star Behavioral Health Providers programs. Welcome aboard, Janis!
Highlights from the blog this week include Dr. Lisa French’s piece on June being National Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Awareness Month. Dr. French discussed several great online resources about PTSD that are definitely worth a look. This week’s Research Update was also filled with a variety of great articles, news and links from around the Web.
That’s all for this time around. Enjoy the weekend and we’ll see everyone back here next week!
