CDP News: March 1, 2013
Welcome to March and this week’s edition of CDP News. As always, we’ll be taking a brief look at the happenings in and around the Center for Deployment Psychology. First up, today is the final day to register in advance for our Southwest Regional Civilian Training to be held in Phoenix March 11-15. Our week-long training events are a great opportunity to learn about a wide variety of deployment related issues directly from CDP’s very own subject matter experts.
While on the subject of our 1-week trainings, the final registration date is approaching for our South Regional Civilian Training. You’ve got until March 22 to sign up if you’re interested in attending this event in Norman, OK, in the Oklahoma City metro area, April 8-12. If you’re unable to attend the entire week of training, participants can register for individual sessions of this course as well. If you can’t make it out west, we’ll also be adding new sessions to our calendar in the near future, so keep an eye on our training page.
Next Friday, our University Counseling Center Core Competency program will be headed to Greensboro, NC to present at North Carolina A&T State University. This Tuesday in DC, CDP Executive Director, Dr. David Riggs, will also be delivering a presentation to the American Council of Education on “Military and Veteran Community Service: Defining Veteran Friendly Strategies for Your Organization.” Also, take a moment to check out our brand-new map of upcoming training locations, as well as those we have visited over the past couple of years.
If you, or someone you know, are in the job market, we have several open positions here at CDP. Visit our “Jobs” section to see what’s available.
Finally, if you’re not already, take a moment to follow the CDP on the social media of your choice, be it Facebook, Twitter or Linked In. It’s a great way to stay up-to-date on news, events and upcoming trainings. That’s it for this time around. Have a great weekend, everyone and we’ll see you on Monday for a new “By the Numbers” entry!
