CDP News: March 8, 2013

It's Friday and that means it's time for another edition of CDP News, where we take a quick look at the latest happenings in and around the Center for Deployment Psychology. First up, today our University Counseling Center Core Competency program visits North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. CDP Executive Director, Dr. David Riggs will be delivering this presentation. The next UC4 program will be held on March 18th, when the program heads to the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Speaking of upcoming training events, our 2013 Southwest Regional 1-Week Civilian Training kicks on on Monday and runs through Friday in Phoenix, AZ. There are still a few weeks left to sign up if you're interested in attending the South Regional 1-Week Training in the Oklahoma City metro area, April 8 through 12. However, space is limited, so if you'd like to attend, sign up today! For a quick overview of all of our upcoming training events, click here to visit our new interactive training map.

Looking back, on Tuesday as part of the CDP's Speakers Bureau program Dr. Riggs delivered a presentation to the American Council of Education, entitled "Military and Veteran Community Services: Defining Veteran Friendly Strategies for Your Organization." For our upcoming schedule of presentations or to request a speaker from the CDP for your next conference or event, please visit the Speakers Bureau section.

If you haven't seen it yet, take a minute to read Dr. Beda Jean-Francois's recent blog entry of the importance of program evaluation. Also, don't miss the latest edition of the always-handy Research Update by CDP's in-house librarian Shirl Kennedy.

That's all for this week. Have a nice weekend everyone and we'll see you on Monday!
