November 2, 2012: CDP News
It’s Friday again and that means it’s time for the latest CDP News roundup. This week was a bit chaotic with Hurricane Sandy tangling things up early in the week, but we still kept quite busy! Our Executive Director, Dr. David Riggs was in southern California presenting to the Center for Innovation and Research on Veteran and Military Families. He wasn’t the only one out west either. Dr. Ted Bonar was presenting our UC4 course at the University of California Davis.
As far as upcoming events, tomorrow, November 3, at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, Dr. Regina Shillinglaw will present “Etiology of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder” and “Assessment and Treatment of PTSD” as part of Penn State Hershey College of Medicine’s “Meeting the Needs of Returning Military Service Members” program. Next Friday, Dr. Paula Domenici will be bringing the UC4 course to the University of Hawaii Manoa.
Registration continues for our one-week training course, Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and Their Familes,” to be held December 3rd-7th in Blacksburg, VA. Visit the event’s page here for more information or to sign up.
Finally, if you missed it, this week’s Staff Voices column in the CDP’s blog featured an informative look at the role of mental health providers in the military recruitment process. Click here to take a look.
That’s it for this week, see you next time!
