Before we get to the holiday weekend, it's time for the weekly announcements.  First up, we've got a few new positions open. There are two openings for Deployment Behavioral Health Psychologists, one in San Diego, CA and another in San Antonio, TX. There's also a slot for an Administrative Assistant at the CDP headquarters in Rockville, MD. Take a look at the Jobs section for additional information on these opportunities.

The increase in the number of troops hospitalized for mental disorders, according to a report in the April 2012 issue of the Armed Forces Health Surveillance Center's Medical Surveillance Monthly Report (PDF). An Air Force Times article about the report notes that "for the second straight year, mental disorders have supplanted pregnancy as the number one reason active-duty personnel are hospitalized."

It's Friday again here at the CDP and time for our weekly announcements. We're finalizing the details and presenters for our June 11-20 iteration of the "Topics in Deployment Psychology." No matter how many times we do it, lining up, scheduling and coordinating eight days of training is always a challenge. It's well worth it however as speakers and participants will be traveling from across the country to take part in this event.
