Staff Perspective: Video Roundup
The CDP staff is still catching up on things backlog from the holiday last week. To add to that, we've brought in many of our geographically-separated Deployment Behavioral Health Psychologists for some on-site training at our headquarters. We'll be back next Wednesday with another staff-written piece, but we're going to do something a little different and showcase a couple of videos this week.
First, we'd like to provide a link to check out a great story that 60 Minutes recently ran. The story showcases the process of treating Veterans using Prolonged Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy, two of the evidence-based treatments that we here at the CDP provide instruction on. It's always good to see Veterans getting help, but when we also see the effectiveness of PE and CPT being spotlighted, we can't help but want to show it off a little bit. It's a touching story and hopefully it will inspire both therapists and Veterans to realize that there are proven ways to treat and recover from PTSD.
Then, we'd also like to present CDP Deputy Director, Dr. Bill Brim as he delivers a presentation on common sleep disorders in Service Members and Veterans. This was part of a recent online presentation Dr. Brim was part of. It went so well, we're looking to do more of these types of presentations. So keep an eye out on the site and we'll let you know when we add more of them. For now, here's Dr. Brim!
