CDP News: June 14, 2013

It’s time for another edition of our weekly CDP News column! We’ll be taking a look at recent happenings in and around the Center for Deployment Psychology, as well as events we’ve got coming up in the near future. On the training front, on Tuesday Dr. Ted Bonar was in Hartford, CT to present our University Counseling Center Core Competency training for the Connecticut Conference of Independent Colleges. The UC4 training continues to be one of our most popular and fastest growing programs. We’ve recently added more schools to our list of upcoming locations we’re going to visit. If you’re interested in bringing the UC4 to your local college or university, please visit our request form for more details.

Next up, we’d like to take a moment to welcome the newest member of the CDP headquarters staff, Ms. Rabia Mir. She’s joining the team as a Subject Matter Expert for Dissemination Implementation Sciences. We’ve added quite a few people lately, but there are still some open positions with the CDP. Head over to our Jobs page to see the current career opportunities available.

As a reminder for those who have attended CDP training events and have access to our online Provider Portal, don’t forget about our weekly consultation calls. Every Monday, CDP staff members host a conference call to allow providers to ask questions and receive advice from subject matter experts. For more information, visit the Consultation Services section of our site.

This week’s Staff Voices column was by Laura Copland, who discussed the importance of neuroscience and its ability to shift negative mindsets to positive, healthier ones. As always, the weekly Research Update made for very interesting reading with a wealth of deployment psychology-related news, articles and links to around the web.

That’s it for now. We’ll be back on Monday with a brand new entry in our By the Numbers section. Until then, have a great weekend everyone!
