CDP News: March 29, 2013
We’ve almost made it through another week, but before we wrap things up it’s time for the latest edition of CDP News. This week we start things off by reminding everyone that today is the final day to register for our 2013 South Regional 1-Week Civilian Training to be held in the Oklahoma City metro area, April 8 through 12. Today is your last chance to sign up to attend this event, so act quick! These week-long training events are great opportunities for behavioral health providers to learn how to treat Service Members and Veterans. For more information about these programs, visit the civilian training section of our website.
While on the topic of upcoming training events, next Tuesday, April 2, our University Counseling Center Core Competency program is headed to Wilmington, NC to present at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Then next Friday, as part of our Speakers Bureau program, Laura Copland will be presenting to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on an “Overview of Cognitive Processing Therapy”. If you’re interested in having a Subject Matter Expert from the CDP present at your next event or keynote, you can submit a request via our Speakers Bureau request form.
Looking back at the highlights of this week’s blog entries, Dr. Mary Brinkmeyer reviewed the powerful new collection of short stories of Veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars entitled “Fire and Forget”. If you missed out on this week’s Research Update, take a few minutes to look through it. There are a bunch of great resources in there.
Speaking of resources, we also recently added a section to our site that details the consultation services we provide to those who have attended our trainings in evidence-based psychotherapies. Visit the “Consultation Services” section under “Resources” to get a quick rundown of some of the valuable advice and support provided by CDP staffers to assist providers in the use of EBP treatments.
That’s it for this time around. See you on Monday with a brand-new “By the Numbers” entry. Have a great weekend all!
