The percentage by which "incidence of obstructive sleep apnea in military personnel has increased...since the early 2000s," according to a recent article in the journal Military Medicine -- Soldiers’ Perception of a Behavioral Intervention for Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Adherence in a Military Treatment Facility.
 
Non-adherence (to continuous positive airway pressure (PAP)) is high in this population and is exacerbated in those with comorbid posttraumatic stress disorder.3,5 Given the potential benefits of adherence, effective PAP therapy may improve the readiness of military personnel.
