December 7, 2012: CDP News
It’s been a busy week, as expected and we’re not done with it yet! Today we wrap up our “Addressing the Psychological Health of Warriors and their Families” training course of the year in Blacksburg, VA. This is the last of our week-long courses for the year, but we’re already looking forward to 2013. If you’re interested in attending one of our sessions next year, take a look at our tentative schedule for the areas we’re like to visit next year.
At the same time this week, we’ve also been running a session of our “Topics in Deployment Psychology” for military providers. We’ve still got a couple of days left on that session next week. It’s a big challenge running two large-scale training events such as these at the same time, but so far it’s gone quite well!
We’ve still got plenty on the slate going forward as well. Tomorrow Dr. Holly O’Reilly will be presenting an overview of PTSD in Chicago for the Penn State Hershey College of Medicine. Then next Wednesday, Dec. 12, Dr. Elizabeth Parins will be bringing our UC4 program to the UNC-Asheville in North Carolina.
We’d also like to introduce the newest member of the CDP staff, Ruth Forster. She joins the center as our new Curriculum Developer. Welcome aboard!
Finally, don’t forget to check out the Research Update and Q&A on the new Fusion Cell pilot program from this week’s blog. That’s all for now; see you next week!
