The percentage of post-9/11 Veterans who are younger than age 34, according to a recent report by the VA's National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics -- Profile of Post-9/11 Veterans: 2012 (PDF). The median age of post-9/11 male Veterans is 32, according to the report, and the median age of post-9/11 female Veterans is 31. For all other Veterans, the median age is 64 for males and 53 for females.
The report includes "any Veteran who received or used at least one VA benefit or service during the fiscal year."
The VA indicates that the current population of post-9/11 Veterans, numbering 2.6 million in 2014, is expended to climb to almost 3.6 million in 2019, for an increase of 36%.
