Staff Perspective: EBP Conference and Summer Institute
It may not feel like it outside, but spring will be here before you know it. The Center for Deployment Psychology has two big upcoming events later in 2023 and it's time to start getting ready for them! First up will be the CDP's third annual Evidence-based Psychotherapy Conference on 10 May 2023. Then 17-21 June we will be holding the Pathways to Military Internships: The Summer Institute event.
This year’s EBP Conference theme will be Answering the Call with Focus, Flexibility, and Fidelity: Implementing EBPs in the Wake of Public Health Crises. The EBP Conference is designed for behavioral health providers from all disciplines, including psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, counselors, marriage and family therapists, and nurse practitioners. The conference should be of particular interest to those involved in the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based psychotherapies, such as internship and resident training directors and faculty, clinical supervisors and consultants, clinic managers, academic instructors who teach other behavioral health providers to provide best practices and evidence-based care as well as front line providers. Registration for the conference is $20. For more info or to sign up, please click here.
In addition to the main conference, pre-meeting institutes (PMIs) will be offered during the two days immediately preceding the conference. Topics for these PMIs will include: Motivational Interviewing Skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and CBT for Chronic Pain. Space is limited, and registration fills relatively quickly. Registration for the PMIs is $45 and includes a ticket to the main conference. Space is limited, and registration fills relatively quickly.
The keynote speaker for the 2023 EBP conference will be George Bonanno, Ph.D., an internationally renown expert on trauma and resilience. If you would like to watch the presentations from previous iterations of the EBP Conference, please visit the 2022 EBP Conference Archive here or the 2021 EBP Conference Archive here.
