The percentage of active duty respondents to the 2017 Blue Star Military Families Lifestyle Survey who said they planned to leave the military within the next two years for reasons other than retirement or separation. The top reason given by these respondents was "Concerns about impact of military service on family." According to the survey, "Amount of time away from family is the top concern, surpassing pay and benefits, which had been the top concern since 2013."

The percentage increase in the suicide rate of female Veterans from 2001 to 2014, according to a new article in JAMA -- New Data on Suicide Risk Among Military Veterans. The female Veteran suicide rate in 2014 was 19 per 100,000, which the article points out is "roughly 2.5 times higher than the rate among nonveteran US women (7.2 per 100 000)."

The percentage of active duty Service men and women who reported experiencing a sexual assault in 2016 who said that the assault happened at a "military location," according to a new report from the Congressional Research Service, Military Sexual Assault: A Framework for Congressional Oversight. Additionally, 12% of women and 18% of men said the assault occurred "while at an official military function."
